'Nother Sketch

This is a detail of a larger sketch I'm working on- but I liked this part so that's all I'm posting for now. She's the main character of a story I've been throwing around for a while now and her name is Teren. I started to flesh the story out a little more because I'd like to try and make it in to a comic eventually. I've got pretty much everything except a climax and conclusion-at least in rough form. I also need to decide what style to do it in...I can't do an entire comic in style of this drawing- I'm just not that good!

This is sooo old.  I started it in high school and just rediscovered it after my hard drive crashed last month.  I liked the colors, so I decided to start tinkering with it again.

A Present in a Painting

For all the people I've been telling about this, here are a few progress shots of the painting I'm doing for Mark for our 2nd anniversary.  It just means he can't know about the blog until the end of the week...I hope I don't forget that I'm not supposed to tell him...

I'm really glad that I decided to do this little project.  It's been years since I've done a painting for myself and not for a class.  It's also the first time in a long time that I've worked with acrylics.  I forgot how much fun painting is and how much I love art.  I feel like I'm rediscovering the artist in me I thought was lost, so hopefully I'll have plenty of stuff to put up here in the future.  Enjoy!

The First Posting

Well, what to write?  I've been thinking about doing this for quite a while now.  It seems like the right time considering I just filled up my last sketchbook in under two months- something I haven't done since I started college.  I guess now that I don't have to be creative for someone else's sake I can be creative for my own.

I'm creating this blog so that I have  place to put things that don't necessarily demand a website update- sketches, works in progress,etc and also just to have a place to talk about life in general... for all of the adoring fans I have out there...

With that said, I'll get back to this later with some artwork and more talkies. Time for bed!
